FIRST TRY WITH ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT

I love this new "chalk" paint.Theres no prep work...you just slap it on like a 3rd grader...it drys faster then you can imagine, slap a second coat on......wax.....sand off/distress the area,s you want to show wear and tear.....wax with a darker color......and WELLA!....your done.......I have to admit i was a little worried about the cost of the paint(35.00 a quart)..but it didnt take that much to cover this chair..plenty left for the hutch and corner cabinet..........  IM SOLD!.....now off to go buy another color to try..........

PAPER WHITES STARTED FOR CHRISTMAS

I love forcing paper whites for the holidays!.Its so simple and yet it adds elegance .I started last year adding them to vintage mason jars and have found that the jar adds some stability to the long stalks.I usually end up adding twig branches to the ones in the white ironstone containers to help the stems stand up.The dried moss around the bulbs also adds charm, as does anything natural.

it,s that time of year again for home made pumpkin butter.

i love fall with all its colors and seasonal foods. One of my favorites is pumpkin butter or apple butter. This is a great recipe from a neighbor who made it one year for her guest at a longaberger party. Its simple to make and also makes a great gift.I made this for the open house at my antique space.I will probably make mini peacan pie muffins and snickerdoodle mini muffins...........just a nice bite size............
